Why Our Family Loves Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas — And Why You Will Too

As a longtime owner at Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas, I can genuinely say this is one of our favorite vacation spots — and it’s not just because of the views (although the ocean sunsets here are unforgettable). It’s the perfect home base for family adventures, relaxation, and making memories — and that’s exactly what we’ve done here over the years.

Every time we stay, we settle into a spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bath villa with all the comforts of home — full kitchen, washer/dryer, private balcony — but in a setting that feels like a five-star resort. We can spread out, cook meals, and enjoy our morning coffee while watching the ocean from the balcony.

The resort itself is incredible for families. My kids love the pools (there are several!), the daily activity center with games and crafts, and walking the trails around the property. We’ve grilled dinner at the outdoor BBQs while the kids played nearby, and we’ve ended many days soaking in the hot tubs under the stars. There’s also a great gym, basketball and tennis courts, and even pickleball if you're feeling competitive.

But what makes this place truly special is how close it is to everything:

Disneyland is just under 30 minutes away — close enough for a day trip but far enough to return to peace and quiet.

Balboa Island is a short drive for ferry rides, frozen bananas, and waterfront walks.

Laguna Beach is minutes away and perfect for beach days, art galleries, or dinner with a view.

Crystal Cove State Park is right below the resort for hiking, tidepooling, or just relaxing on one of the most beautiful beaches in California.

There’s so much to do — or not do — depending on the kind of vacation you want. Some of our best memories here have been the simple ones: playing board games in the villa, watching a movie after a day at the beach, or catching the sunset from the hillside.

This property is incredibly well maintained, the staff is friendly, and the experience is consistently top-notch. We’re not able to use our week this year, so we’re offering it up for another family to enjoy — and I really hope it’s yours.

We LOVE this resort! Been coming at 1-2 times each year for 25 years. Chairman level reservation. Gorgeous views, great rooms, friendly service. So many things to do in the area, or just relax at one of the pools, hot tubs, or the beach at Crystal Cove across the street. Shuttle for shopping areas and the beach. Kids water play area at lower pool. BBQ areas, basketball, other games. Great spa. Close to Disneyland, shopping, and so much more! Trader Joe's & eateries 5 minutes away. Pelican Hill Golf course is adjacent. Perfect place to relax!

Lots of pools and activities for kids (club house, game room, water slides and fountains). Free shuttle to Laguna Beach and Fashion Island, across from Pelican Hill golf. Just beautiful for the a group of friends or the whole family!

Not an out of the way, down at the heels timeshare. It's the best in the States. Most units with great views of the ocean (not guaranteed). Ocean breezes almost every day (and air-conditioning when not).

Marriott Newport Coast Villas are the best! They are clean, convenient to the beach and shopping and have tons of amenities. Our whole family sleeps comfortably and has tons of fun—on the property and in the surrounding area.

My family and I have been coming to this resort for almost 20 years now. We LOVE it, but are unable to use it this year. The staff really do it up right with activities for all ages. Also, plenty of opportunity to lounge by one of the pools and simply relax. The condos themselves have everything you need to cook for two or for a crowd (except for the food and drink of course).

Beautiful views, and brilliantly designed apartment. Also Crystal Cove, the most beautiful beach oasis in California is within walking distance of the villa.

Location! Location! Location! Great resort with an abundance of amenities! Golf, beach, on-site family activities, and multiple pools. Fun for the whole family!

We love vacationing at Newport Coast Villas. The Villas are always in great condition and the property is gorgeous. We spend the day at the beach and/or pools and just relax watching the sunset with a beverage of choice. This place is amazing!!! The last time we were here they had a magician and great entertainment which is all included in your stay.

We've been owners at the resort for nearly 25 years and love taking our family here for fun summer vacations. There is a wonderful beach across the street, superb dining, and loads of fun activities for everyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

As an owner of many weeks at Newport Coast, our family and friends have gathered here in many occasions and created wonderful memories. This property will offer you gorgeous sunsets facing Catalina Island, enormous pools, plenty of sporting options, stunning walking and hiking paths, as well as great shopping nearby. On occasion, we can offer a rental opportunity to another lucky family. Most recently, a family of 3 generations, including a 90 year old grandmother, rented from us.

Newport Coast is a stunning property with as much relaxation or activity you desire for all age groups. Though tucked away in its own oasis, the property is convenient to off site local stores and restaurants, often with free parking and trendy Trader Joes up the road for groceries and flowers.
