Our huge 3 bedroom unit easily sleeps 12. Oversized flatscreen tvs and patio with over 2100 square feet. Perhaps bigger than home. Great restaurant and golf club and nice minigolf. Many nice pools and an updated gameroom make this one of the nicest resorts in the area. Disney is so close you can almost hear the fireworks. Easy check in and out. Patio is screened in and has access from master br and livingroom. Two large jacuzzis close to your master kingbed make it a romantic getaway. I own 2 units here the 3bedroom which is a double lock off and 2 bedroom and they are available for rent when I don't use them.
We just returned from a week in a 3.bedroom unit. It was well furnished and newly renovated. 1/3rd of the buildings were unavailable as they were being redone, so clearly they are serious about upkeep.
Our kids loved the pool. We had a toilet issue and maintenance was out in 5 minutes.
Only negative is the front desk - took forever to find us a room. But that was more an issue with the refurbishing than anything else.
This is a wonderful resort for family vacations. We have stayed at other resort in the area that have "golf privileges" to find out that the privileges are cross marketed and are at this resort. We love the wildlife refuge and the fact that you don't feel boxed in. It's like home away from home. I could spend my entire vacation with field glasses watching the wildlife. The beautiful and challenging golf course is perfect for winter practice when the snow keeps you playing and the indoor simulators just don't cut it. We have never had any problems that the staff could not accommodate and correct immediately. One time when we checked in, the refrigerator was completely frozen because the thermostat had been turned to the coldest setting. The maintenance person had the refrigerator defrosted and functioning normally before we could return with groceries.
The sales staff have promised a planned spa but we have not seen any construction to validate. The sales staff is aggressive so hold on to your wallet. They are always trying to sell you something such as weeks or an upgrade. If you are thinking of buying, make sure you purchase on the secondary market so you don't pay the high pressure retail price. When buying on the secondary market, make sure that you check to see if charities will accept your purchase as a donation should you ever want to donate your timeshare in the future. With over 700 units, the chance of getting a reservation when you want is very good. The summer months are primarily owner occupied so to maximize your vacation experience, always plan ahead.
With convenient access to near by attractions as well as the Atlantic and Gulf coasts means that there is something for everyone in the family.

As with most timeshare resorts in the U.S., this resort relies on incentivized Time Share Tours to generate sales. At this resort, the sales cycle follows this pattern:
The customer is solicited to attend a tour for an incentive The customer comes at the designated time and signs in at the tour desk in the sales center The customer is greeted in the lobby of the sales center by their "Vacation Consultant" (salesperson) The salesperson explains timeshare and its benefits while asking questions that identify the needs of the customer. (The goal here is to get the customer to agree that timeshare is a good idea based on their needs, and some salespeople will just keep going until they can get the customer to agree.) The salesperson takes the customer out on a physical tour of the property and the model suite. (The goal while on the property tour is to eliminate all objections other than money, so that negotiations can begin upon return to the sales center.) The salesperson then takes the customer back to the sales center and shows them how the financing would look on the unit of their preference. If the customer declines this initial offer, a sales manager will be brought to the table: If the customer has no interest, the manager's goal is to ensure that the tour went OK, and that there were no problems other than the money. They will often attempt to offer a special deal from their special (upgrade-exchange or pre-construction) inventory to determine if price would make a difference. If the customer is interested, the manager's goal is to find a unit from his special inventory that will work for them financially. If the customer knows with certainty what they can spend monthly or which unit they want, then the manager can often quickly get to the bottom line. If no sale occurs, then a "Representative of the Developer" (a leaser) is brought over to see if the customer might be interested in looking at the opportunity again in the future. If so, they offer a low cost lease opportunity. If not, they show the customer to the gift center. The customer reports to the gift center, and exchanges their tour worksheet for their incentive/promotional gift.
This place should not be a Gold Resort with Interval. When we arrived we were told our room would be ready at 4 pm. Ok thats the time stated that they have to give us our room. Have stayed at many nice resorts and it has never taken to the last minute but rules are rules. When they did give us our room it smelled of mildew so bad we had to call the office and request another room. It took them 1 1/2 hours to get us another room. Maintenance man told us the room smelled of mildew so bad because the air condition filter had not been changed as needed. He was not sure why they put us in that room because no one had stayed in that block of rooms for over a month. When we finally did get a new room it was fine until the next day. We awoke and the room felt pretty warm. Thermostat was set at 74 and the room was at 78 and the air conditioner was not running. We called the desk at 11:30 am and told them of the problem. They said they would send someone up. We took off for Animal Kingdom. Got back 9 pm that night and the room was 84 degrees and the A/C was still not working. Call desk and was told they would send someone right up. At 10:30 pm after 2 more calls we went to bed. 10:45 maintenance shows up and fixes the A/C. All he did was make sure that the sliding glass door to the porch was closed tight so a sensor would not shut off the A/C. Door was closed NOT TIGHT ENOUGH. The resort was half full ALL WEEK. Why would they need all day to give me a smelly old room? Why would they not come and check on A/C ALL day. You could NOT GIVE ME A WEEKS STAY HERE AGAIN. Not sure why they are on the top of your list with Gold symbol???? You really need to keep an eye on this place. Really Really BAD customer service Really Bad
We stayed one week here in mid-March 2009. If you love golf, and can afford to pay their prices, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, STAY AWAY ! We have stayed at nearby properties, like Orange lakes and Sheraton Vistana Village, as well as some Hilton properties, and this by far is one of the worst in the Orlando area. The 1 Br was clean, but barely furnished. One lamp in living room , a sofa and one uncomfortable chair, no table, just bar stools, and few towels. The mattress was sagging, and the entire unit was aged. There was nothing much to do, except swim in a few small pools (which had few pool towels, no shade, and half of the umbrellas did not work.) No hot tub - no exercise facilities - a "very" miniature golf course, and tennis. The grounds were sandy, hardly any landscaping, and the entire resort had a "bland" look to it. The "security" gate was a joke - the person hardly looked for the parking ticket. No one came to check the unit, give us clean towels, or do any vacuuming. There was no vacuum cleaner in the unit, and the rugs got very dirty by the end of the week.There is no store to buy necessary items. The phone calls cost 50 cents locally, and $1.50 if you use your calling card. We have not been charged for phone calls in a long time, until we came here. There is a charge for internet, and there is no internet area where you can use their computers . You have to have a lap-top. At check in - be prepared to be "hustled" by gregarious timeshare sellers. It is difficult to get your key until you can convince them you are NOT INTERESTED IN BUYING. We have never been subjected to such aggressive treatment at any other resort. Needless to say, we will NOT be going back to Mystic Dunes.
I right this review and compare it to other resorts like the Hilton & Sheratons. I would not stay here again. If you want a resort that offers a truly wonderful vacation than this is not the resort to stay at. It is stricly a golf resort out of the way off the 192 and it really has nothing. We were very disappointed with our checkin process and we were a day late upon arrival and at 10:00 at night and we were told housekeeping had just finished cleaning our room and to wait in the lobby area for someone to bring us our key? When we arrived in our room we found the supervisors report on the table and the room had been cleaned the day before we checked in at 4:30 so why were they telling us the room wasn't ready? As internet is NOT FREE like the other resorts we had to connect with a cord that had to be picked up at the reception centre that we checked in at.. well guess what it was closed! a taxi driver was waiting outside and told us GOODLUCK when we went in as no one was there.. so we had to go to a aluminum trailer and there was a staff member there who gave us a cord for an additional $10 (you get back when returned) . The pool areas were very small and nothing was happening there. No music or resort activities at all. The small bar opened up to find out a slushie was $5.50 USA so converted to CDN $$$ that would be oh about $8 for a childs sugar drink.. the other alcholic drinks were even more.. bring your own drinks to the pool.. go to Walgreens and buy a cooler as others did. No food at that pool at all you could order food and they golf carted it to you 30 minutes later.The pool should be open until only 10:00 (Sheratons open till 1:00) no hotub at the pool we were at but the bar guy said it might close at 9:00 so no consistent rules. WE found this resort had nothing to offer but a large 2 bedroom unit which was no where near compared to the luxury of the new Sheraton rooms or the Hiltons but was very large we were in building 23 and had a huge ensuite bathroom. No midweek clean as the others give you..I rate this a 2* due to the service and the fact that it really has nothing there.. If you want to lay in the sun and do nothing then go there.. but if you want to be within close proximity to Disney and the Florida Mall( took us 30 minutes ) then don't stay here.. feel free to email me with any questions of you desire.. We will definetly not return and go to either the Sheraton, Marriott or Hiltons for our next vacation.. very boring place! Security is a wave through the entrance gate and they look out the window while you drive by at night I could have been anyone with anything hanging from my window mirror.. the Sheraton and Hilton you need your room key to allow the bar to go up so that would concern me if I had teenagers walking around at night as its a dark street you come in off of to the resort from the 192.. Just wasn't what I had expected at all .. its a golf resort with lots of buildings plunked around some very small pools... so disappointed...
We stayed there in 2007, and had a great time. A laid-back resort with relaxing views of the golf course, and great pools for the grandson--he loved it. The only thing I would have asked for is more towels in the unit, as we go through a lot of towels in a day. I would highly recommend this resort.
Absolutely marvelous. My family and I have stayed at this resort for six years in a row. It has everything we need - it's our home away from home. The laundry inside the room, the full kitchen, jacuzzi, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, screen in patio. Beautiful.
We've gone during spring break, summer break, Christmas break. Each time it was great. Up the street from Wal-Mart, seafood buffets, and discount stores.
I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
My family and I have stayed at this resort many times, and we have always had a great vacation experience. We love the beautiful HUGE units with jacuzzi tubs. The big screen TV's are great, too. There is so much for the family to do right in the resort that you don't have to spend mony in the parks every day. The free mini golf is a great for the kids (and grown ups!). The tennis and basketball facilities are readily available. We always stay in April and have perfect weather. It's wonderful to be able to order lunch by the pool, and the prices are very reasonable. Last year we spent most days at the older pool complex (which is very well maintained), and our family had an entire pool to ourselves!
We love this resort! Gorgeous setting, lots of beautiful palm trees and swimming pools, plus lots to do without even leaving the resort. But just up the road is Disney World, and other shopping. And not much further out from there are great restaurants and more theme parks including Universal Studios and others.
The rooms themselves are air conditioned, with tile floors and very comfortable. Big Screen TV, TV's in both bedrooms, DVD player, and room safe.
My family and I had a great time at Mystic Dunes. Apartments were huge. Very close to disney world and about 10 mi from Universal. Pools were nice and lots of activities for the kids. Master bedroom was beautiful and second bedroom had two queen size beds. Resort is very quiet. This was especially nice when you want to eat in your screened private patio with nice views.
I have gone every year to this resort. It is by far my favorite place to stay in Orlando. The living room alone is a home comfort in the evenings when we are returning from a long day touring all of the Theme Parks. The jacuzzi in the master bedroom also aleviates those achy feet. The new pool is spectacular with the little water fall. The Clubhouse has the most wonderful steaks. MiniGolfing with the kids is relaxing and fun. Its just a perfect location in a fun City.
The one thing I am unhappy with is that internet connections do not exist wirelessly on premises. I know I should not be worried about work while on vacation, but I feel they should add WiFi soon.
Found the ammendities to be outstanding, The view great. While there are alot of units there it seems very quiet and peaceful. The golf course is first class as well. Glad we bought a week there. Something there for the whole family and a stones throw from disney!
We stayed at this beautiful resort in March /05.We were in a two bedroom unit which was larger then most of the timeshare resorts we had been to before.We were impressed by the elegance and cleanliness of the resort.There were numerous activities for the children.Free Continental breakfast was served by the main pool from Monday to friday.They also had a barbeque for all guests.The golfing was comparable to other areas but as one knows golfing is an expensive sport to begin with.We are looking forward to a return trip as they are in the process of building a massive pool/water park type facility.The only downfall was the sales pitch they tried,but if you can ignore this you will have a great time at this resort.Worth visiting.
Update: Sept 2006 We stayed at this beautiful resort for the second time.It was even better then before.They have opened several pools (five total)including a very large pool with waterslide.There are several new buildings.The property is constantly being maintained.No one approached from the sales staff this time.The villas are elegantly furnished.Truly a lovely resort.
Lovely resort. My granddaughter had a great time and wants to go back every year. The villas are very roomy and beautifully furnished.
I stayed at this resort, no way is this a five star. I travel a lot and on business and vqacations and this did no way pass more than a 3 star resort. One thing did notice i was not approached by any sales staff, however on Saurday morning there must have been 20 couples touring with sales staff. a #-Star resort, also only 2 pools with one tennis court, and do not be fooled by the minuature golf it is truely a minuature course with a few peolpe it beomes over crowded.
THIS IS A VERY HIGH CLASS.. GATED RESORT. WITH 24 HOUR SECURITY.. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RESORT I HAVE EVER STAYED AND VERY WELL MAINTAINED.

This place is beautiful. The apartments are so spacious and fit for a king. The kiddie pools are perfect for the kids. The golfing was awesome.
We stayed here during last week of March 2005. Lovely big 2 bed apartment with all you could want. No hassles from sales although we had a procession to a nearby apartment every day.
Only downside was small pools some distance away from apartment and noisy air con outside bedroom window.
We went May 2 - May 8, 2004 We had a terrible time! We went as a "guest" since we rented a week. Check in was a pain, real bad - they wanted us to tour the facility.
We requested an upstairs unit, but got a lower unit. No screened porch. We had to call maintenance upon checking-in, the unit smelled of mildew and the disposal did not work.
The facility had no gym or exercise room, the 2 pools they have were over crowded. The main one with people and the other one with insects!
Aside from golf, which was expensive, there were little to no activities for anyone over the age of 12. This place did not even have Internet or HBO (even the Budget Inn at $29/nite has HBO & high speed Internet these days)
This was not even close to a "4 star resort." We sent a letter to the Wyndam Palms, which went unanswered. (Maybe they will read the postings here and respond.)
My advise, stay away from this one unless all you want to do is play expensive golf.
I really enjoyed my stay there in August of 2004. The staff was eager to assist and help whenever needed. The villa was well keep and clean. We really enjoyed our stay. My nieces and nephew had a great time. They preferred to stay at the resort than go to the Parks.
My only complaint is that the living room Sofa and Chair needs to be updated. It was easy to travel to the parks as well as other attractions.
Shopping was easy and convient. I look forward to my next stay.
Nice place to stay!! We had a fantastic time! This place was huge! We were right next to the pool, playground and golf. Absolutely gorgeous property! Conveniently located to local shops, grocery store and resturants!

BEWARE! The quintessential condo experience from hell. We placed our best friends here in March 04, while we stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress down the road. This is supposed to be a 5-star property, but the management and timeshare hustlers make you feel like you are in Mexico. Their 1-bedroom luxury unit with kitchen turned out to be a tiny lockout with a non-working bar fridge and a hotplate (1 burner). The air conditioning unit was broken and leaked water all over the carpet, turning the unit into a swamp, complete with condensation and mist. This 4 person luxury unit featured a single dining chair with an 18 inch diameter table. The smoke detector was covered in a plastic shower-cap. When we took off the plastic, the smoke detector went off continuously. Nice touch. The restaurant dining room is to be avoided at all costs. The kids got sick within a half-hour of eating the chicken fingers. The pools are small, overcrowded, and distant from most of the units. Spend your valuable $$$ elsewhere.
Just got back from the Wyndham Palms - we had a fantastic time. Unit was very clean, as well as the grounds. We had a 2 bedroom lockout that was more than we expected. The facilities were numerous (mini golf, bicycles, etc) and were all included. Though I do not golf, the club house was extremely nice. Unit did not have a hair dryer, but 1 phone call took care of that - delivered to room within 1/2 hour (great service). Only drawback was that there were only 2 smaller pools on site, but that is expected to change in 2005 with new pool and ammenities to come.
Units were GREAT. The golf is very expensive tho, and there is not much in the way of restaurants. The check in process was HORRIBLE!! Very slow, cattle call atmosphere. Good location though. Mark
I stayed at the Palms in June 2004 with my family, and have more con's than pro's for the Palms's.
Con's the 90 min tour took 3hrs and very overpriced last years price was 9,900 and this years price 21,000 and not even for a new unit I was offered the unit I stayed in 25302 and that price was for a vation every other year. And they made me think that they were cutting me a great deal.

pools were not convient to the buildings and you had to drive to them find parking and still walk to them and thwy were very crowed because trere were only 3 small pools in two locations.

Other than my room the rest of the facility did nothing for me or my family. It was nice and all but it left a lot to be desired.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit in February. The grounds and unit were beautiful. Our room had a view of the 8th hole. The golf course looked fantastic but we didn't play. Too pricey for us. There was free minature golf and that was fun. I don't think they have a hot tub by either pool. We couldn't find one. I've vacationed at several resorts and I'd definately stay here again.
Tip: At check in, be sure to pass the first building with all the parking space. The check in desk is in a small building behind with only a few parking spaces. We went in the first building and ended up with a representative encouraging us to take the tour. It took nearly an hour before we got our key.
There is a relaxed atmosphere here. There are bikes to bike around the golf resort. You can take golf lessons and start your morning with a round of golf and they have a cool golf club house. There is miniture golf for the kids. Nice pools and video rentals for your 52" T.V. The 2 bedroom apartmens are large and beautifully decorated. It is cool that you can do your washing, drying and ironing in the apartment. Disney World is a right across the road and there are plenty of restaurants nearby where you can dine buffet style and cheaply. I highly recommend the resort for families because of its convenient location which makes traveling to the parks a breeze. Best of all you can relax in your own private large jacuzzi in the master bedroom after all the park walking.
I cannot give this property more than 4* because it just does not live up to its 5* rating. Maintenance seems to be haphazard, based on the 5 repairs that we had to call for in our first day, and they were nor minor! The furnishings lack "class", the lighting is poor in the living room (one lamp for a large room), the linens becoming threadbare, etc. Maybe now that Wyndham owns the property, it will improve, but for now it looks great from the outside but the units need help. As others have reported though, location couldn't be better.
Have been to Florida almost every winter for 25 years. This resort has everything for everyone. We loved the golf course. Close to the Theme Parks. And the unit had two of everything and a large screen TV. Could not have been better!!!
I spent spring vacation at this resort and it was home away from home. Very spacious living. My husband and I, along with our four children (ages 2, 9, 13 & 17), were in a 2- bedroom lock-out suite with 2 of everything (kitchen, bathroom, family room, washer & dryer, etc.). It was not only comfortable, but it also had a lot of ammenities for all ages. We didn't have to leave the compound much except to visit Disney World and Universal Studios. We had a very enjoyable vacation and I highly recommend this resort.
We stayed at Wyndham Palms at the end of August 03 in a large two bdr. unit with full kitchen, incl. washer and dryer. The unit was well furnished and equipped with three TVs, incl. one about 54" in size. Housekeeping was above average. There was a generous free breakfast offered five days/week at the pool. The staff was helpful and various activities were available during the week. There are tennis courts and basketball near the garden pools a third pool near Bldg. 20-21
The resort is well planned with 19 three storey buildings in place around a new 18 holes golf course and more in the planning stage. The new golf clubhouse offers a nice restaurant and a pro shop and a free miniature golf.
Located about one mile south of the busy commercial #192 the resort is quite secluded but close enough for any shopping needs. Overall I would rate it at 9 out of 10 and would be happy to go back again.
Customer Service is a joke at the Palms. I have owned for 4+ years, paid maintenance fees on time and used every year. I have a deeded annual contract (the account is paid in full).
I am prepared to use my week Saturday, 7/5. Monday, 6/30, I call to give the name of the couple checking in Saturday and am informed that my reservation has been canceled, because the "public offering statement" allows them to cancel reservations that are not confirmed 60 days in advance.
I did confirm as I alwasy do, but since they have no record of it, they are "entitled" to cancel my "reservation" and rent the room that I have paid for out to someone else. They can reserve the next available week for me (in August)!!
This is a beautiful resort! There is lots of promise. What has been constructed is very tasteful and luxurious. The accomodations and ammenities are 1st. class. The golf fascilities are wonderful. The pools( 2of them) are very nice, and the proximity to Disney is 5-10 minutes!
This is a wonderful place to stay and is only going to get better and better!
Our stay at the Palms was as relaxing as expected. The grounds are beautiful and the accomedations exceptional.
The staff was most helpful, when needed.
Activities were interesting. You could do it all or nothing.
My family and I stayed at the Wyndham Palms Resort and we loved it. We stayed in a two bedroom unit. Very clean. Very nicely landscaped. We came to go to Disney which was a 5 minute ride away. Perfect. - Lisa
Arrived Orlando FL on October 24th and checked into the Palms Resort to find out that the upgrade to a two-bedroom was not to be found. The desk person said they could do nothing for us and to contact customer service. I paid $198 per person plus $30 to upgrade to a two-bedroom. I called customer service and they said to write this letter requesting a refund due to the absence of my father-in-law Norman who had surgery two weeks prior to the trip and could not travel with us. We stayed in the one-bedroom in villa number 19302 that had the following problems along with pictures:
·The patio door that did not open so you could not let any fresh air in even though there was no patio. ·Only three of the lights in the kitchen area worked and drawer next to stove did not open all the way. ·The remote did not work with the TV/VCR in the living room or bedroom. ·The tile work was not cut properly for the inserts and did not look like a very professional job. ·The bed and couch were both uncomfortable to sleep on compared to the other five star hotels we have stayed at. (my husband had not slept in 24 hours) ·The molding needed paint you could see the wood through the paint through out all of the room. ·The activities for that day were canceled due to thunder, which we did not hear but the employee said that there was some.
The next day as we are walking out of the door Jazz the salesman who we would spend the rest of the morning with wondering where we were. Of course we answered the phone thinking something had happened to the father-in-law. Once we arrive for the presentation because we are staying on site we are segregated so the other folks will not hear any of our negative comments. I asked Jazz why we did not receive the two bedroom that we were promised and he said it was because we paid so little for our reservation and only had four people it should have been $299 for a two bedroom and you needed six people. We also let him know all the repairs that were needed in the villa but nothing was repaired during our stay. My six-year-old son was in the play area with the promise that he could play video games. The maids who were in the area did not have any knowledge as to how the games worked. He did play with another boy but the time dragged for him as well as it did for us.
I was interested for the first hour then I promptly lost interest when Jazz began arguing with my husbands answer to the survey. The question was how important do you feel taking a vacation is one being the lowest and ten being the highest. I rated it a 10 and Doug rated it a 9 (which if you new Doug was a great rating). Jazz proceeded for the next hour to argue how he could only rate it a nine. His argument consisted of bad drawing of a cave man first crawling, then caught horses, then invented cars and lastly the plane we flew on. Trying to show how things were different than in Dougs grandparents day that never took a vacation. He also went on about how first we preserved food in water, then ice, then someone invented the ice box, and lastly the refrigerator another history lesson but what does this have to do with your time-share? He also went on about how people who did not take a vacation ended up in mental wards. We knew more about his family and their purchase of a time-share than what the time-share was. He also was trying to be religious and praising God for all of his success as the number one salesman. Jazz also stated that it is the referrals of our friends and family where he makes his money. I certainly would not put them through four hours with Jazz.
We then went on our tour with him and was shown a picture perfect two bedroom, the lights all worked, there were three beds with one being the king we had requested but did not care about anymore. I asked Jazz if the two bedrooms were like this one or like the one we were staying in. Jazzs answer was that all the units were the same (my mind said like the one we are in). The tiles were perfect and it had a patio in building 10, but I am sure this is the unit everyone gets to see but ends up buying the less than perfect one I stayed in. I would have liked to see a two bedroom that someone was using at the resort I bet it was in the same condition as the one bedroom we were in.
My husband informed him that when we go on vacation we like to be pampered he does not consider my making beds, doing laundry a vacation. He would have preferred to stay at a hotel than at your resort. Jazz did say that the rooms are steam cleaned after anyone leaves and I am sure if it were not clean we would not have stayed.
Finally after all this time at 11:30 a.m. price is finally mentioned around $25,000 for a deed to a two-bedroom we told him we were not interested. Jazz then gets the manager who has one for $8,000 that someone had upgraded to a three-bedroom. We told him we were not interested and could afford it. Doug told Jazz it sounds to good to be true and probably was a SCAM! At this Jazz went ballistic scam he kept repeating and grunting but would give no honest argument to disagree with us. We were finally through and able to leave. I think if you want to give an honest presentation stick to the facts on price should have been brought up in the first hour and a half and not four hours latter after we had lost interest. We also did not receive the discount coupons but I had done my homework and got them through Orlando Visitors Bureau.
