Reviews of Marriott's Fairway Villas at Seaview
Galloway, New Jersey
I highly recommend this Marriott time share secluded fun vacation spot. Every year my husband and I do look forward to spending time at the Marriott Fairway Villas. It has been five or six consecutive years of vacationing at different times of the year ( either as a Marriott vacation Club Owner trading our week and/or through exchange program with II). During our weeks we always invite guests part of the week and my husband and I stay alone for the remainder of days. It"s a fun filled Atlantic City vacation week. It has become our secluded getaway and we are never bored!
This is an update The Villas and Lobby have been fully renovated and redone with a golf theme. It is Just lovely. We look forward to spending Christmas/New Year's week at this resort. Enjoyable family entertainment available. They even allow you to purchase a fully decorated Christmas tree if you like to be placed in your villa. It is totally your home away from home for the holidays.
The 2 bedroom 2 bath luxury units (with kitchen, fireplace and screened in porch) are very comfortable. The Fairway Villas staff are very friendly and accommodating. You can fully relax at the Red Door Spa on the premises. The timeshare offers Golfing and/or swimming in the indoor or outdoor pool. There are Great social events going on through out the day for all. Also a plus for us is you are just 10 Minutes away from the Atlantic City Boardwalk and Casinos if you enjoy gambling, etc. Exploring the surrounding areas is also great . Lots of fun to be had by all.
Our latest update is we truly love Marriott Fairway Villas so much we purchased 3 vacation weeks there - 2 platinum & 1 gold week!
I own 5. It's the best.
Very nice vacation with family and grandkids. Plenty of room for 8 of us. Pools and activities for all ages. Spa very nice and specials by pool everyday, a great plus. Close to AC and beach and boardwalk. Ocean City also easy to get to. Couldn't ask for more.
Spent a peaceful January 2013 week here on an II exchange. We had never been to this part of NJ and were surprised to find much to do in addition to Atlantic City casinos. The unit is just perfect: very spacious for a couple, but could handle more easily. Very well equipped, and clean. Common areas also super clean. The gas fireplace did not start a couple of times and "engineering" came within 15 minutes to restart it. They were efficient and concerned that we comfortable. Told us the appliances are being updated, so they will repair the sink link we reported at that time.
Why only a "4" for the staff? There was no guide book for the resort anywhere in the unit. Not even a TV listing of channels! Each person we questioned about it had a different answer, varying from telling us there must be one there, to "oh, we are updating them & haven't finished yet". We did have some problems at check-in also, because the unit was not ready and the fellow who was supposed to call us did not do so. He was very indifferent to our needs. Yet all week on the grounds the staff was extremely helpful. Maybe they expect all guests have been there before?
The shopkeepers at Smithville were also very helpful and friendly. We will go back in warmer weather!
We have stayed here a few times and each time the units have been exceptionally clean and comfortable. The Marriott brand lives up to its reputation of quality. There is a adult-only pool which is good in summer when there are many children in the main pool. I only wish the "store" on property contained more items. However, there are major supermarkets within 5-10 mins. so you can stock up on groceries. There are also plenty of restaurants within a few mins. drive. Atlantic City beaches are about 15 mins. away as well as other beaches. There is a lot to do in the area, of course, you will absolutedly need a car. As others have said the kitchen if fully stocked with dishes and utensils. Bring your own dish washing liquid, though as they provide a tiny bottle. Nice screened-in porch to sit on in the evenings. Everyone here is very friendly as there is always a parent or grandparent to talk to.
We love this place!
There are six three-story buildings with ten rooms on each floor, making a total of 180 units. All are two-bedroom, two-bath units. The master bedroom has a double sink area with a hot tub. A door leads to the private part of the bath with a large shower and toilet. The other bedroom is just as large and has direct access to a bathroom with sink, tub/shower combination, and toilet. This bathroom is also accessed through another door from the main living area. This second bedroom also has a couch which opens into a bed that sleeps two. Both bedrooms and the living room have large flat screen HD TVs.
The kitchen and living area are one large room. There is a couch here also that opens to sleep two. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, pots, pans, and dishes. They even provide paper towels, dishwashing liquid, coffee filters, dishwasher soap, garbage bags, and tissues which could last the week. Starter coffee, salt, pepper, creamers, and laundry detergent are there to last the first day or night.
Two other areas that we take full advantage of are the laundry/storage/utility room off the kitchen. The washer and dryer make packing easy. the other area we live is the screened-in porch off the living room. Every unit in the complex is identical.
After check in, you are responsible for bringing your own luggage to the rooms. They provide pushcarts and one elevator per building. We kind of enjoy this, but it could be a problem if you are elderly or disabled. I''m sure if that were the case, they would provide help.
What to do here? Atlantic City, pools, ocean, golf, spa, fitness centers, restaurants, tennis, outlet shopping, wineries, and much more---everything is either right outside your door or about fifteen minutes away.
We have been going for about ten years. The units are clean, updated yearly in some manner, and homey. Again, we love it!
We have stayed here many times. Convenient to Atlantic City but adds being at a relaxed fully appointed resort. Never crowded and all the amenities of a top notch resort.
2 great golf courses at the resort and many more nearby. The practice facilites are great and can be used for free. Practice your pitching and sand game.
Love the Red Door spa and the adults only tranquility pool. Large outdoor pool for familily and an indoor pool at the hotel.
Full brand new kitchens with all you need to cook full meals if you loke or go to nearby restaurants. Many to choose from. We love staying here.
What a big surprise! Great property for adults. Spa and pool area are excellent! Two great golf courses and practice area. Short drive to casinos in Atlantic City.
Fantastic resort - something for everyone!!
We stayed for our fifth time in early August 2009.
If you want a relaxing vacation and you like, swimming, tennis, golf or a beauty spa you never have to leave the resort. It has multiple tennis (and basketball courts), 2 world class golf courses, and excellent golf practice facility - driving range and several practice chipping and putting greens. Two outdoor pools (one for adults only) and an indoor pool, a fitness facility and an full service Elizabeth Arden spa. They also have plenty of kids and family activites and large gas BBQ grills available for use.
If you are willing to drive 15-30 minutes, you have all of the excitement of Atlantic City - casinos, restaurants, shopping, and boardwalk. For Atlantic Ocean beaches, there is Brigantine beach (15-20 min) and Ocean City beaches (25-30 min). There is also quaint shopping at Smithville (10 minutes) and the Renault winery with tours and another golf course (10-15 minutes).
The units themselves, are clean, updated and well maintained. Each unit has 3 flat screen LCD TVs plus one DVD player - the kids brought their Playstation to plug in and play as well.
We had two 2-bedroom units on June 21-28, 2009. We were in Units 1034 and 1035 (some of the older units, but you wouldnât know it!). Units ending in 10-19 are first floor; 20-29 are second floor; and 30-39 are third floor. (If you have active kids, you may want to request a first floor unit, so that you donât disturb people below you. We got a call from the people below us.)
The units were in excellent condition. Very nice! Included in each unit: washer, dryer, whirlpool tub (master bedroom), three TVs, on DVD player, full kitchen, queen sleeper sofa in the living room, king bed in master bedroom, queen bed and sleeper sofa in other bedroom, screened porch. Towels for the pool are provided.
There are three pools: an outdoors family pool, outdoors adult pool, and indoor pool. Additional towels are available at the indoor pool. The workout facility appeared to be good, with all machines working. My wife liked the spa. There is a driving range and putting greens at the resort. We were too busy to use the onsite golf course.
Everyone on staff was very helpful. The concierge quickly resolved an issue with the Elizabeth Arden spa. When the microwave stopped working, maintenance had a new one installed within two hours.
The nearest beach (Brigantine Beach) is 15-20 minutes away. Itâs a laid-back beach. We only visited once, for dinner, and looked at part of the beach. The part where we were had limited facilities (14th Avenue, only portable toilets). I canât speak to other areas. For beachtime, we went to Ocean City, which is 25-30 minutes away. Great place for families! Nice beaches, boardwalk with amusements, food, and light shopping.
Offsite Restaurants: The Rainforest Cafe in Atlantic City (15-20 minutes away) is fun, both for kids and adults. Good food. The enclosed deck of Laguna Surf in Brigantine has a nice view of the ocean. Itâs casual. Pretty good food. We enjoyed the seafood stew. La Hacienda, just north of the resort on Route 9, has enjoyable Mexican food. We particularly liked the shrimp/fish/scallops in tin foil.
The Fairways are one of the nicest Marriotts we have stayed in and we have been to quite a few. The resort is quiet but very kid friendly with a nice camp program for them. There is the Elizabeth Arden Spa on the timeshare premises with its own quiet outside pool and a lovely indoor pool. There is also a nice spa lounge and small restaurant. The resort is adjacent to the Seaview Country Club also owned by Marriott. The Country club has its own indoor and large outdoor pool. So in total there are four pools for very few people. If you golf there are two 18 hole courses and numerous putting ranges and 2 driving ranges. What we loved were the great restaurants in the area, the mild temperatures in the Spring and summer, the proximity to the Borgata in AC and the way we are always treated by the wonderful staff at the Fairway Villas at Seaview Country Club.
We have been to this resort six times and cannot wait to go back each time. It is a classy vacation that is not presumptious. It is a great place for anyone, seniors, couples, kids, teens and young families. Go there you will not be disappointed.
Stayed here six times. The excellent amenities: driving range, putting and pitching green as well as the Nick Faldo golf school, golf course, tennis courts, Elizabeth Arden spa and swimming pool/jacuzzi are no more than a five minute walk. Electric carts run regularly around the well maintained property if you need a ride.
There's a bird sanctuary with viewing towers, Noyes art museum, restaurants, a pristine seafood market (Rafelli's) near the winery, and supermarkets within 10-15 minutes as well as excellent and less expensive golf courses within half hour.
We think the two bedroom, 2 bath unit is very comfortable and well equipped, especially with the recent renovations. The kitchen is fully equipped, though a salad spinner would be welcomed. Double sink is nice and convenient touch in master bedroom. Villa guests now have their own pool towels and relieves the unsightly problem of guests leaving towels on the chaises when departing the pool. Parking permits are now issued to guests. Adult activities are minimal: wine tour, Cape May tour, bingo and social wine tasting. We do miss the water aerobics and yoga classes. All in all we are upgrading the resort to five stars from our previous four and half in 2005 because of improvements to the resort. A computer in the Fairway Villas center and Brigatine visitor's beach passes would also be welcomed and if we had a choice of not receiving marketing calls during our stay.
Golf, gambling, and a great time. As Gov Kean used to say; New Jersey and You-Perfect together. And as of Summer 2007, free WIFI in the units with, as we just found out, a 100 % signal. An extra treat in a wonderful timeshare.
Besides eveything positive mentioned below, 10 minutes to Borgata, 15 min to Brigintine Beaches, and 20 minutes to Great restaurants in Ventor and Margate. In addition to the wonderful golf (discount available), children loved it,camp, day programs etc. Stayed 7/04/05 week. Now own 3, most under rated resort on eastern shore!
WONDERFUL VACATION FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Apr 04= WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HOTEL LOBBY, MAIN DINING HALL, DESK & CHECK IN. Are they converting to RAMADA??? This hotel refurb is for the birds. The GRAND is definately GONE. We had two wait staff in the full Grill Room, waited for medicore, expensive food, and although they tried, they seemed need a bit more help that night.
If this is like "IT WAS" in the old days, I would expect to see cornfields in the future.
BTW= No more brunch Buffets, and the Famous Friday Nite Seafood Bufett has been discontinued. (Where is WESTIN?) End from 4/04 update

We loved it!!! We stayed here in November 2002.
The grounds were well-maintained and beautiful. We loved the indoor pool and even treated ourselves to the Elizabeth Arden Spa.
The villa was beautiful and spacious. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer was a huge plus. The master suite was our favorite part with oversized jacuzzi tub and private bathroom. From the third floor there was a fantastic view of A/C....amazing at night!
A/C was only a 10 minute ride and we didn't mind it. It was nice to not be in the hectic city.
Smithville was just a short drive away and we thought it was great. Many little shops with a historic flair. Great food. A nice theater with a cute little holiday show. Place to feed ducks and geese...set on little ponds. Even had a carousel and train ride a big hit for kids.
We even took a day trip to Cape May. We will definitely return.
My family and I visit the Fairway Villas every year in March. I love it. It is just a little too far away from Atlantic City. I guess it has to be to have all of those amenities.
This is a great resort for golf lovers. Kids' activities organized throughout the day. Hotel restaurants are more for adults. Shoprite LPGA tournament held here every June--we stayed during this week and had to take long detour to get to the Marriott by car. Elizabeth Arden spa was very nice if you like to be pampered. Watch out for black flies during the summer in the outdoor pool area. Resort uses huge fans to try to keep these flies away.
Spacious floor plan with unique kitchen layout. Furnishing are top notch and bedrooms are large. Resort is located on golf course and only miles from ATLANTIC CITY. We have traveled the country and find this to be an undiscovered gem. You can kick back and relax or go full bore in Atlantic City. Grounds are well kept with large pool and staff is very accomadating. Don't own here but are exchanging for the 2nd time--------highly recommend !!!!!
Stayed at the resort 3 times....Beautiful, spacious 2BR/2BA units with screened balcony overlooking one of two golf courses. Gas fireplace, W/D, fully equiped kitchen. King in master BR, king and sofa bed in 2nd BR, sofa bed in living room. Gas grills in the woods outside. Walking paths around golf courses and down by the bay. Love the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon and Spa - free daily use for TS owners and exchangers. Mens and womens separate locker rooms with sauna, steam room, whirlpool, cold plunge pool & private walled sun area. Showers and changing area chock full of EA products to try. Outside mineral and whirlpools. Indoor pool. Spa Bar for smoothies and lunch. Marketplace now open year 'round. 15 minutes to the action of Atlantic City!
Non lockoff 2 bdrm suite, nicely furnished with fireplace. Building 3 has the new mattresses. No free golf. Not much to do in the area. I found it too far and inconvenient from the gambling, and if that's why you want to go to Atlantic City I'd recommend you stay right in an AC hotel where the elevator is the only ride to the tables. For a great dinner try Ram's Head Inn about 5 minutes away.
