This resort is a very large resort with a wide variety of accommodations. Be very specific about what you are seeking and expecting. This review will pertain only to the timeshare units which are located in the Greenwood Forest neighborhood at Peek and Peak.

The timeshare units are in a quiet section and away from the hubbub of the central Inn area. The units are in clusters and are perched on the side of the hill and views vary; but most of these units face the northeast and are meant to be ski-in /ski-out units. Each cluster holds four units, two up and two down, each with its own entrance. Each unit has parking for two cars, with overflow parking available. Definitely not handicapped accessible as there are 8-10 steps up or down depending on the unit. Once in the unit, it is all on one floor. Each cluster has a shared BBQ grill. Each unit has its own lockable exterior closet for skis. A car is necessary as the Inn, with its restaurants, pool, golf courses and ski-lifts, etc., is at least a half-mile from the Greenwood units and the resort itself is about 5 miles from the closest village and thirty miles from the best shopping.

The units are decorated well and are 2BR, 2.75 baths: one Jacuzzi and separate shower stall in MBR, one tub/shower combo in second bedroom and one ¾ bath with shower off the kitchen. The upper units have cathedral ceilings and I am assuming the lower units do not. In the entry way, doorways lead either to the second bedroom or to the dining area which seats six. Beyond the dining area is the kitchen, with a bar counter (though no bar chairs). Beyond the kitchen are the third bathroom and a laundry room with washer and drier. A side turn from the dining room leads into the living room area with a lovely stone fireplace wall with gas logs and atrium doors leading to a private balcony. There is an entertainment center in the living room which includes tv, stereo with cds and cassette possiblities, vhs/dvd player and some board games. The furniture is heavy and upholstered and, in our unit, was in good condition. The bedrooms, with ensuite bathrooms, are separated by the living room and are quite large and comfortable with adequate closet and dresser space. King beds are in both bedrooms which might create sleeping issues with large families. Sofa bed in living room. There are TVs in the LR and both bedrooms. Mattresses are softer than preferred, but comfortable.

The kitchen is furnished very well: stove, dishwasher, frig, microwave, along with salt/pepper, tea kettle, coffee pot, slow cooker, dishwashing liquid and automatic dishwasher soap. Not included is soap for the washing machine and coffee for the pot. They used good quality blinds in all windows and no other curtains except for valances in the bedrooms. Because the blind quality is good, this method actually works.

The only part of the unit which I do not like is the main door. It contains two glass panels and no curtains. So someone standing outside the door can see into the living room area of the unit. That bothered me so I hung a bath towel over the top of the door and shut the door; tacky but it covers the windows.

During our first night, we discovered a variety of lights that were not working, along with the gas fireplace. A call to maintenance the next morning resulted in all items being fixed within the hour. The only item that could not be fixed was one of the blinds and a replacement one was on order. So good and prompt service on the maintenance items. I also called Housekeeping for a better bottom sheet, which actually tucked under the mattress and one was delivered, also within the hour.

The resort offers a concierge service which is very helpful and the Inn has a variety of onsite dining areas to choose from, along with a very nice pub, which we have used twice. The indoor pool area is quite large and includes a fitness center and game room. There is also an outdoor pool with water slide. You can also drive to the top of the mountain as there is road which leads to the second golf course and condos on top.

The timeshare units are wired for WiFi even though the notebook in the unit stated that a long distance dial-up was required for internet access (very outdated book). A follow-up visit with the concierge resolved the internet issue. You can also get an Ethernet cable from the front desk for a $25 dollar charge which they refund when returned. The concierge recommended the cable due to the unreliability of the wireless WiFi in the hilly region. The Ethernet cable attaches to the small modem near the TV. We moved the sofa table from behind the couch over to the area by the TV and used it for a computer table. No complaints with the Ethernet connection. There is also a computer in the Inn lobby for hotel guests.

The resort is really in the middle of nowhere and the best towns for shopping are: Erie, PA, 30 miles to the west, Jamestown, NY, 30 miles to the east and Buffalo/Niagra 60+miles to the north. Both Erie and Jamestown have the typical chain restaurants. There is an onsite convenience store at PKNP with the basics and a slightly larger one about five miles away. Both Erie and Jamestown have a Wegmans which is a really great grocery store.

Toronto is not far away. Just remember to bring your passport.

RCI rates Peek and Peak Resort as a Gold-Crown Resort. I would agree based on the amenities at the resort and the quality of the unit. But the unit/resort is very sedate compared to Gold-Crown resorts in Florida.

We think the resort is very nice and we would return.
