We stayed in the 2 Bedroom in March 2004 and the new management is doing an excellent job in renovating the premises. We had a fabulous view of the ocean and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Bonnet house is next door and you are surrounded with lots of activities to see and do. We bought a 2 Bedroom as we feel this timeshare under the new management will do wonders. Combined with the view of the ocean and the upswing of Las Olas, we feel this timeshare has something for everyone!

I own two units in this facility but only purchased after staying here on several prior vacations.

The facility is very well kept for its age and the new management seems to be spending money upgradeing units.

Great place to stay. The location could not be more perfect. Just tucked back in from Sunrise Blvd. and A1A between Birch State Park and the Bonnet House. Walk to the beach, or shopping, or dining. Everything is right there including the water taxi just over the bridge. Units are very large and nicely maintained for being an older property. Private balconies are a real plus. Loved the squirrel monkeys who come sit on the wall when they play music at the pool. Great place for homemade Italian ice just around the corner. And, of course, the beach. It is so close and so clean and beautiful. Another big plus is the very nice laundry facility that is provided free of charge. Actually, I can't wait to go back!

Overall I think we got a good value for our money staying here.

Too bad it was a hurricane week in November 2001 so we could only swim 2 days out of the 7 days. But given there was so much to do in the area, it was a fun stay anyway.

This is our favorite resort. The rooms are large, comfortable and each room has a balcony--great for wine in the evenings. All upper-floor rooms have great views, either of the ocean, or the Intracoastal Waterway and city lights. (However, the views from rooms on the West side below the 6th floor may not be as good.)

An uncrowded stretch of Fort Lauderdale beach is only a block away. Along that block you can enjoy an excellent ice cream or pizza.

The large Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is a 3 minute walk away, and the 35 acre Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is next door. Both add to the quality of life at this resort. And due to their extensive and accessible beach frontage, these outstanding attractions contribute to the lack of crowds along this beautiful stretch of beach.

Within short waking distance are restaurants, night life, and multiple small businesses. With a little longer walk across the Intracoastal drawbridge, you have access to the Galleria Mall, Publix Grocery, and the Intracoastal water taxi.

The rooms at this resort are great, the views are great, the location is great, but the most outstanding benefit of staying at Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is the excellent uncrowded beach.

Two notes of caution: 1. Beware of studio units. All studio units are the "lock-off" portion of 2 bedroom units, and only a standard door separates the studio unit. As a result, there can be a lot of noise passing through that door. And if you have the one bedroom portion of the 2 bedroom lock-off, you may experience the same noise problem and it can ruin your otherwise perfect vacation. As a result, it's best to know what room you are renting. (Also be aware: One bedroom units numbers that end in 1, 5, 6 or 10 are all part of a 2 bedroom lock-off unit.)

    2. The 2nd caution is the check-out process, which can become difficult due to a lack of luggage carts and limited elevator capacity. Experienced visitors often pack their cars the night before checkout, or very early in the morning.

Aside from these two cautions, this is an excellent resort with a great location and fantastic beach.

I've owned here since 1992 when they had gutted the place and started turning it into resort condos. Since then I had exchanged or rented with no real intention of coming down. My kids are adults now and we decided to check it out for the only the second time - 24 years later. The outside looks the same, other than a paint job here or there - I was not sure what to expect. Once we got inside - WOW. Awesome job on facilities, amenities, decor - everything! Our unit faces the beach (1403) and even with being right beside the elevator, there is no noise coming in to the unit. If you like to walk, everything is walkable (within 30 minutes) - its all there - restaurants, shopping, shows, tours - just ask the Concierge for details. Front desk staff is efficient and the maintenance and cleaning staff are extremely friendly. Hot Dog lunches, Pizza parties, Ice Cream social, Happy Hour - all great times and great prices at the poolside bar.

If I don't go down myself, I will rent in future years.
