We love it, we have been owners for 7 years and we return every year. Golf courses are amazing and affordable, legends walk is great for beginners and the cranes bend give you the most value. We play putt putt a couple times a day, a pass for the condo is $25/week. The pools are always stunning. Many great choices for food and drink. Staff is friendly and courteous. You need a rental car, the resort is huge. The resort shuttle does the trick but it doesn't take you to the Publix. The only internet is below the guest check-in and is overpriced. A great place to stay and play for a week.

If you read the history of Orange lake you will realize that this resort will withstand time.

Hello, just responding to Rein1 regarding the "manure" smell. What that is, is the fertilzer in the plants all around the complex, they use natural manure as many descent places do for the benefit of the grounds. Typically you will smell this the most when it's humid outside. We have been owners at Riverisland since it opened and visited OLCR for many years before, and have always smelled the manure, again especially when it's humid out - not a big deal since OLCR is an amazing place to be and that is why the grounds are so beautiful ! Enjoy your stay !!

This resort is the best I've experienced. Buildings recently refreshed with new furniture, paint, carpeting. Beautifully decorated. Large rooms. Comfortable beds, no noise from other units. Beside it's close proximity to Disney and other attractions, on site activities are phenominal. Several pools, a water park, 3 golf courses, on site restaurants, very friendly, helpful staff. Quick response to any problems. Very, very clean.

My only complaint is their VERY hard sell of timeshares.

12/20/2008 - Wonderful place to stay at. The OLCC is a very large place, the family enjoyed the pool husband & son enjoyed golfing at the 3 golf courses on site. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit and was very roomy the 3rd bedroom was very roomy which had a couch, table and chairs this would be ideal for another couple. My teenager loved having that room bathroom was attached. We were able to see WDW fireworks everynite from balcony and large family room window. I had read some reviews regarding a foul smell outside. Yes, we did smell that odor and it is quite unbareable. The odor is not present everyday but it would come and go. Went to resort services and asked what the smell was from and they said it was Animal Kingdom. If you are planning on golfing early am on the Legends, just be prepared that the smell may be present, since the Legends is next to East Village. I would highy reccommend this property to anyone wanting to stay close to Disney. OLCC was very polite and was there for any needs. Would stay again!

We rented over New Years from an owner in bldg 86300 in the East Village. Very nice two bedroom on the Legends course. I played both courses, the Legends is more wide open with large greens, the reserve is shorter, tighter, more bunkered and tougher in my opinion. We did notice a "stench" during two days of our stay and there is a Disney waste water treatment plant and or landfill not too far away, but it was only in the East Village. Regardless, the accommodations were very nice, the staff was friendly, and the River Island water park was pretty awesome. We plan on renting again next year.

We overlook the Legends golf course and Disney. Have never noted any "smells" from Disney! Ours is a handicap friendly penthouse unit with great views that unfortunately the room layout does not take advantage of. We like the quiet isolated location of our modern villa and large footprint of the resort in general. We can view the Disney fireworks every night!

However, check-in can be irritating because of the huge emphasis on pitching time-share sales. It is a real turn-off for us. Also, the unpredictable changes in golfing rates. Otherwise you can't beat the location relative to Disney etc..

The best timeshare resort in the Orlando area. I have stayed at over 10 different resorts and this by far is the place to enjoy Orlando.

We stayed in a roomy 3 bedroom unit in the East Village. Overall we were very satisfied. The unit did have an outdated VCR player,no DVD player.

We are owners at orange Lake resort ( River Island and also club house ) we spent March there every year .. andits been family tadiation with us and also our dearest friends from U.S.A. and Canada who meet up with us yearly same time same place .. The staff are caring and very accomodating .. our unit is always clean on arrival and security is always on the ball to provide the best security to staff / guests and owners.. The only things that bother me is this : Deeded owners who have for years made Orange lake their second home .... paying full proerty tax and maintanance fees yearly ... do tend to feel that they are treated second to guests and point system buyers .. BUT DEEDED OWNERS DONT FEEL THIS WAY !!!! YOU ARE A VALUED IMPORTANCE TO ORANGE LAKE .. YOU SEE THRU EXPERIENCE ... ONE TIME VISITORS AND POINT SYSTEM FOLKS VISIT THEIR ON VACATION AND ACT LIKE THEY OWN THE PLACE THEY COMPLAIN WHEN THEY GO TO RIVER ISLAND POOL AT 12;00 NOON OR LATER AND CANT FIND A SEAT .. ( MARCH BREAK ) THEY BITCH AND COMPLAIN TO STAFF AND PRESENT DIRTY LOOKS TO PEOPLE BECUASE THAY HAVE A SECTION WITH PERHAPS 10 TO 15 CHAIRS ... WELL FOR STARTERS ... THESES PEOPLE WITH LARGE SECTIONS ARE LARGE FAMILIES WHO ACTUALLY ARE THERE EVERY SINGLE YEAR FOR 2 TO 4 WEEKS IN MARCH .. THESES PEOPLE WITH LARGE SECTIONS WHO ARE COMFORTABLE AND HAVE A NICE SECTION TO SIT DAILY ARE ACTUALLY DEEDED OWNERS WHO SHOULD HAVE A GOOD SPOT TO SIT AT POOL AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE THEIR FAMILIES BEING THEY ARE THEIR YEARLY AS THEIR SECOND HOME .. DEEDED OWNERS DONT GET DISCOURAGED AS THOSE WHO BUY THERE NOW CANT GET DEEDS THRU RESORT JUST POINT SYSTEM .. AND KEEP IN MIND WHY YOU OWN THEIR AND WHY YOU PURCHASED DEEDS MANY YEARS AGO .. YOU DID IT FOR YOUR FAMILY FOR YOUR KIDS FOR A LIFE LONG MEMORY THERE ... THOSE WHO COME IN AS GUEST / POINTS CHANCES ARE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THEIR FACE AGAIN THE NEXT YEAR SO ENJOY YOUR TIME THERE YEARLY ENJOY YOUR METING UP WITH OLD FRIENDS ENJOY THE POOL AND IF THE PEOPLE WHO COME FOR A ONE TIME THING DONT LIKE IT THEY DONT HAVE TO GO BACK IF THEY COMPLAIN ITS TO CROWED PEOPLE ARE HOGGING CHAIRS AND TABLES THEN THEY SHOULD GO SOME WHERE ELSE KEEP GOING YEARLY DEEDED OWNERS AND LET KNOWN THIS IS YOUR HOME NOT JUST A PALCE YOU GO ONCE AND MOVE ON .. WE KNOW AS OWNERS ITS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD FOR OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME ( NEXT TO OUR HOMES IN (ITALY) WE GO TO .. LOLOLO ENJOY YOUR MONTH OF MARCH ... Just returned from staying in a 3 bedroom unit in the East Village - an RCI exchange. Wonderful accommodations - rooms looked like they came out of a decorating magazine. The River Island Pool is fantastic - it is just a short drive from the East Village. My only complaint is that OLCC did not provide information on fees for internet access, golf courses, miniature golf, tubes for the lazy river at River Island, etc. That information should be part of your check-in package.

3/22 - 3/28 We stayed in the east village 86200 units. Can I say the place is spectacular. Much to do, great location outside of Disney. This past week the weather was phenominal, 86 degrees and not a day of rain. We came with our family, two young kids, (age 6) and two adults. The only issue I had with the facility is the main pool does not have enough chairs for the guests, (that's why 4 stars). Folks got there early and took up the chairs for the day. You are lucky if you get a seat, also, the wave pool is shallow in places, (only 2' 6") at some points, but still, great for kids and lots of things to do on site. The photo of the west village on this site is really the pool in the east village.

PS. There is significant construction going on near the main pool so, I don't know if folks in units over there experienced the noise.

This is an outstanding resort with tons of activities for everyone. Close to the River Island waterpark and the Legends golf course.

The "smell" at East village is no big thing, whatever it is. Every evening for about an hour or so we did smell a slight "manure" aroma but it was not very strong and soon disappeared. East Village accommodations are excellent...on par with the finest hotels in the area, including Hyatt Regency.

We have stayed in the East Village for 5 years and we have never smelled anything. The animal kingdom is closer to river island than the East Village. We have always been more than pleased with the condos in East Village.

OLCC as a whole is great, but I have to say that I will never again stay in the East Village. The East Village property borders Disney property...their sewage treatment plant specifically...and when the wind is from a certain direction the STENCH is unbearable. It really ruined my vacation. OLCC knew this, but chose to build on the property line anyway. Shame on them!!! I feel very sorry for the East Village owners.

I just returned from staying here at my in- laws timeshare. I was very impressed with the condo, activities, grounds, golf courses and friendly staff. Plenty to do, large resort and lots of fun!
