Do you need a car to get meals or shop?

There are several restaurants nearby including a nice Thai eatery almost across the street. Directly across the street is a McDonalds and next to that, an Arbi's. Marco's Pizza is a little further down, but they deliver anyway. For shopping, it is walkable to Pier Park, which has everything. Sometimes, it just too hot though, maybe a car would be nice. I've never tried to get an Uber, but I'm sure they are around. I guess it really depends on what you want to eat and how far you want to walk.
