Were stayed at only 3 different Timeshare resorts in Florida and 3 more in South Carolina and Georgia. Calypso is a typical central Florida resort- good spot everything you need- not as fancy as some I guess but is in a good location and its easy to get from the large pool areas to your rooms. The children always have playmates and it seems people easy to meet at this resort. People tend to leave there to go to Disney during the day leaving it a quite place to visit with those who stay and relax. It is walking distance stores and restaurants. There is even a Walmart close enough to walk.

My son and I visited this Resort in August of 2010. The apartment was a little small, but clean. I found a few ants on the bed, but nothing major. The staff was extreamly nice. I had no problems with them at all. The resort is kind of boring. The pool closes around 8pm. They have mini-golf; three pools, a tiki-bar (the drinks are great). The Resort was quiet. They were supposed to have a DJ, but he came only once and we had rain, so he left. My only complaint is that you must find something to do, it's boring.

There is a hotel in the same location. This hotel and Calypso share the same amenities. I heard there was "free breakfast" at the hotel. All you have to do is to get a ticket. I never enquired, but I was told it was true. I made breakfast eveyr single day. I love to cook. The kitchen was totally furnished. Walmart is just around the corner. I made dinner two days; it was a great kitchen. I met a family who was staying at the hotel. I allowed them to use my kitchen. It was a big family and they made delicious Latin food.

My kid loved the pool; I loved the kitchen and porch. The water was horrible. I hated to take showers. I hated the smell of swamp water. I bought water to drink/cook/ wash dishes. The pool had way too much clorine. I guess this was the only way to kill the smell of swamp water; God that was horrible. I almost forgot, the blinds on the bedroom were clear white. Once the sun comes out, there is no way you can sleep. The sun comes in your bedroom and there is nothing you can do. This is not a 3-star Resort.

I was never asked to take a Tour and I was not interested.

The resort itself is just okay. nothing spectacular. we were in a one bedroom unit which we found much too small ( the living room area was a joke). The MAIN complaint we had was the STAFF. As a timeshare property manager, travel agent and Real Estate agent, these people have NO idea how you treat a customer. We arrived at 3:00pm and told our unit wasn't ready (which is fine, since we were an hour early) however, at 4:00 we tried to check in again and was told the unit was not ready. I explained to them that my daughter was sick and needed to lay down. The desk supervisor told me she couldn't put me in a different unit that was ready. i had to wait for the one they were putting me in. long story short, we finally got into our room at 5:30 pm. The maintenance staff never cleaned the pool while i was there. Believe me, one pool could not be used. It was filled with leaves, dirt, bugs, etc. It was nice they had a singer by the pool bar on certain days. Other than that..stay away! I would never stay here again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay at Calypso Cay Resort!

We had a wonderful stay at Calypso Cay Resort. The location is perfect—close to Disney and other Orlando attractions. Our villa was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a full kitchen that made our stay easy and convenient. The pool area was a highlight, especially the tiki bar, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Great value for families, and we would definitely stay here again!

Very close to our favorite parks, and conveniences like casual dining, Walmart (for in-unit cooking needs), etc. Resort has always been flexible, and we have been able to use points to book weeks other than our assigned week (different unit sizes as well). The kids love "Castaway Cove" and probably ride the zipline hundreds of times each time we visit.

Fabulous resort for families with free shuttle to all local theme parks. Beautiful resort pool,climbing wall,zip line,etc on site. Great location for your Orlando/Disney/Universal/Sea World vacation!
