Chetola Resort

Outstanding Mountain resort, fishing lake, Fine dining at resort ,liquor bar, SPA, workout rooms, indoor pool, hot tub, shopping, Incredible Blowing Rock just down the street loaded with restaurants, shops, wineries... fun fun fun. Moses Cone National park with miles of trails, horse back riding, Blue Ridge parkway 1.5 mi away then hundreds of miles of hikes and incredible mountain views. We own three weeks at this resort. Everything is first class and up to date. All master bedrooms have King Size beds, which were installed a few of years ago. All units are fully furnished with flat screen tv's, dvd's and WiFi. Each DeLuxe unit has a large jacuzzi in a separate room. Standard units have a jacuzzi tub and shower in master bedroom All two bedroom units sleep six. All units have full kitchens, laundary area and dining room. Living room area has wood burning fireplace This resort has been rated Gold Crown by RCI for 24 years!

Our 2 BR/2BA, full kitchen deluxe condo had views of lots of trees and a peek at the pond that is on-site. One King bed, 2 twin beds and pullout couch. Luxurious feeling. There are other 2 bedroom standard condos that don’t have Jacuzzi etc, so check what you are getting. Lots of amenities provided and fully stocked with paper products, lots of towels, dish and laundry detergent, garbage bags, etc. The staff throughout the facility is over the top in terms of meeting every need. We had two minor maintenance issues that were taken care of within 15 minutes. A tech guy was sent out immediately one evening to help us get the DVD to play. Strong wifi and individual router in unit. Business center with 2 free computers on site. Very small spa on-site. Very nice deck. Buildings are two stories and are built into hillside so you go half a stairway up or down to access your unit from parking area. Top units seem to have more light. Very fully equipped with high quality dishes, pans, small appliances, W/D, iron, hairdryer. A wet bar and a Jacuzzi with view are off the living room. Very quiet. Excellent on-site restaurant and small pub. Indoor pool, on-site spa. Playground for kids, but didn’t see many of them. On-site trout fishing and pedal boats. Charcoal barbeque next to building. Wood-burning fireplace in our unit (some have gas).

This is really a get away from it all type facility. Nothing going on in evening. Walking distance (20 minutes) to downtown Blowing Rock where there are several other good restaurants.(Try Story Street Grill). Also some good restaurants in neighboring Boone (Joy Bistro). Boone Golf course (public) is just 3 miles away located between resort and Boone and my husband and friend said well worth the fees and beautifully maintained. Tanger Factory outlets with a great selection of stores backs up to the resort, but you can’t see it through the trees. Grocery store (Food Lion) is ½ mile away.

This was our first visit to Chetola Resort and we were very pleasantly surprised with the resort. We were there Memorial Day, 2010, and the grounds were very beautiful, landscaped well. The food at the resort restaurant was wonderful. The staff and service was great. The outside restaurants were very good with many to choose from. The golfing in the area was good, easy to arrange tee times with. We went zip-lining for the first time and had a great time. Overall, it was one of the most positive vacations we have had and we can't wait to go back.

The only area that wasn't the greatest was in the Master Bedroom. We are used to a king-sized bed. The bed in the master bedroom is considered a queen. I believe it is a double sized, which was quite small. A true queen would have been sufficient. I slept on the floor which was adequate, but definitely not ideal.

Finally, I would recommend this resort to anyone. It was great.

This is a wonderful resort. We own three red weeks and usually use every one. The resort backs up to the Moses Cone National Park on the Blueridge Parkway and its 27 miles of graded, well maintained carriage paths. The Town of Blowing Rock and nearby Boone have countless wonderful restaurants. Great place to visit any time of year.

This is a world class resort and we loved it! We were there in June 2006 and the weather was great! The only downside to the resort is that everything carries a price as far as the ammenities. We had to pay for the paddleboats - except for one day when they are free - even tennis has a rental fee. We didn't mind since it was a nice place but it makes you appreciate the places where you don't have to pay to play - and we sometimes take that for granted. All in all a great experience and would return.

Wonder ful resort. We were ther in January and the snow was beautiful. Great Food! Units "FIRST CLASS" and the SERVICE was even better.

I have stayed here a number of times-different times of year.It is wonderful.A perfect get-away.It has full service hotel or condo units.It is in walking distance of great outlet shopping or town of Blowing Rock and a 3 mile ride to Blue Ridge Parkway.Staff trys to meet any need.It has a beauitiful indoor pool and recreation center.Most units has a jacucci.
