Great beaches close by. Walk to downtown Kappa. Beautiful well kept grounds. Abundant outdoor grills. Pool and jacuzzi. Shuffle board & Tennis Court. Pickle board court. Outdoor Chess Board. Ample free parking spaces. Putting greens. Rental on site for beach chairs and snorkle equipment. Unit has air condidtioning and ceiling fans.

Open grassy courts, pool, jacuzzi, Free barbeques for cooking, games to rent, tennis courts, very helpful staff that can organize everything you need. We brought our family there 2 years ago and had the best time. Costco is 3 minutes drive from the airport and 15 minutes drive to the resort. All major stores are in Kapaa. We have to skip this year sadly.

Not a "fancy" resort, but so cute and comfortable. The location is perfect.

Best kept secret on Kauai! Located in Kapaa, is so convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. The oceanfront walking path is our favorite place to stroll and catch the gorgeous sunrise!!!! You can walk to the Kealia Beach from Pono Kai.

Everyone at this resort is so nice and the beachfront rooms are amazing! I was able to walk out my door onto the beach and then follow the path into town for dinner.

Pono Kai is close to the airport and in the center of the island.

This is a beautiful resort located in the heart of Kapaa. Easy walkability to restaurants and shops. Grocery stores nearby. Good location for going up and down the island for sight seeing. Beautiful walking/biking path down by the beach. Nice beach area to sit or swim. Well maintained resort with pool, tennis courts. The staff is always very nice and helpful.

Beautiful property right on the beach. Recently renovated. Been going there for over 20 years. Sent friends and family and they have always loved it.We are at a point in our lives we are just not traveling as much as we used too. I hope this property can now be a blessing to someone else. Mahalo

This i a great location on the ocean. The town is nice and the beaches are close with a walking trail. Easy to see sunrise and sunset on the same day in Kauai.

Hurts my heart to sell my Pono Kai timeshare! My family and I have been going to this beautiful resort since 1987. Our girls went from little munchkins splashing in the pool to young women driving ATVs and kayaking. Since this is a floating week, it was a real advantage to us to be able to schedule our week whenever we could take vacation. We were usually assigned an ocean-front unit. My husband and I are in our 70s and, sadly, find it hard to travel to Kauai now. It’s time to let someone else enjoy the Pono Kai.

We love the location in Kapaa, with its shopping, restaurants and lovely bike and walking path up the coast. The resort is well maintained and good for both couples and families. There are lots of things to do at the resort so you can be active, just settle into a lounge chair and enjoy the ocean breezes or go explore the rest of the island. Checking into the Pono Kai always felt a little like coming home.

The resort is beautiful with lots to do for families. We enjoyed the walking path and the games etc at the resort. The unit we stayed in was facing the ocean so we got a beautiful breeze. At night it was extremely difficult to sleep in the back bedroom. There's no ac and it truly needs ac. The humidity and temps during the day made the room heat up. We had to keep the ac on in the living room and master so there would be some air flow in the back bedroom. That is the only issue the rest of our stay was very nice.

The resort is located in the 2nd largest town with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. It is centrally located on the east side of the island, 8 miles from the airport. The beach is just steps away. Tennis, basketball, croquet, and putting greens on site. The staff are great and the grounds are well kept. There are elevators and laundry rooms in each building. Barbeques are located next to each building. There is a 7 mile concrete coastal walking and biking path that starts at the resort. You can reach the north side of the island at Princeville or the south end near the Grand Canyon of the Pacific in 20 to 30 minutes. Kauai has the only navigable river in the islands, with kayaking and river cruises.

I gave the location only 4 stars because there can be a lot of traffic outside the entrance. The resort is wonderfull and the staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The island of Kauai is absolutely beautiful with no end of activities and sites to visit.

You can't get closer to the ocean beach. Very beautiful.

Great location on the East coast of Kauai, not far from the airport. Most units have been recently refurbished. Restaurants, groceries, bike rentals, and shopping all within walking distance. Also, PK is right on the Kauai multiuse trail.

We have owned here since 2008 and enjoyed many trips over the years - just can't make it in 2025. The units are clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The grounds are very well maintained, and you can't beat the location. Kapaa is about 15 minutes from the airport in Lihue and a very walkable town. It's location also makes it easy to drive to most places on Kauai.

Our family loves staying at Pono Kai. The incredible views of the sunrise over the ocean each morning starts the days beautifully. The ocean front location is central with easy access to the North Shore and to Poipu. There are many restaurants and food trucks nearby, along with supermarkets.

The bike and walk path next to the resort is wonderful and stretches for miles. There are lots of shops within walking distance.

The resort has a beautiful pool, newly resurfaced tennis court where you can also play pickleball, and many BBQs.

Setting on the Pacific Ocean in the Historic town of Kapaa, Pono Kai is a gem of the island. Grounds are kept immaculate, public amenities are maintained excellently. Staff is ready to please each and every request. The on-site concierge can book any activity on the island and give you additional information on state parks, restaurant referrals, and free attractions. The garden and Koi Pont is delightfully. And if you are a cook, check out the Herb Garden.

We absolutely love Pono Kai. It's the one place where all of our real world stress melts away. The staff is super friendly and almost like family to us now. This is our favorite place in the world!

I have stayed there many times and found the resort to be nice and quiet. It’s right on the beach. There is a wonderful walking and bike riding path in front of the resort that goes for Miles. Beautiful location, central to a lot of things.

Centrally located, ocean front in walkable distance to Kapaa town. We love staying here and enjoy the bike path, restaurants in Kapaa, beautiful sunrises, and easy access to other parts of the island.

Me and my family have been going to the Pono Kai since the late 90s. walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Staff are very responsive to all requests and needs!
