This is not a luxury resort. But we love staying here because of its location (walking distance for meals, shopping and beautiful coastal trail). The staff is great as well.

My wife and I have loved this resort since our honeymoon 35 years ago, and at this point in our lives, we would love another family to enjoy it!! We sent our son and his wife for their honeymoon 8 years ago to keep the family tradition going. It can be your tradition too...

It's a cute resort on the east side of the island. It has all you need for a vacation in Hawaii. We loved the ocean views and walk along the beach. There is a sidewalk that is accessible from the resort that goes up and down the east side of the island. You can rent a bike or just go for a walk. The staff is friendly and their concierge was very helpful in booking excursions for my family. Near by is a Safeway and the town of Kapaa is a cute walkable town with fun shops.

We have owned Pono Kai for 25 years and have gone with our family every year or every other year. Our whole family have fond memories of the island the Pono Kai.

Best place to stay on the East side of Kauai - Kapaa. Nearby Supermarket/restaurants/shops. This ocean is 50 yards from the building A, B, C, D. Access to the Ke Ala Hele Makalae, is a scenic coastal path stretching along the east coast of Kauai. It offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, lush landscapes, and a glimpse of local wildlife. Perfect for biking, walking, and soaking in the natural beauty of Kauai.

Literally the perfect location on the island. 30-45 minute drive to either the North or south/west coast. But staying in Kapaa and wondering the little village, riding bicycles or sun bathing on the beach is also a perfect choice. There are just enough amenities and a nice homey feeling. Non-pretentious feel.

Love the location here, central to everything! Halloween festivities are a fun experience here. The Pono Kai staff is outstanding and always helpful. Beautiful beach just steps off the lanai, the sunrise is always spectacular.

Great family friendly resort, right on the beach. Pool, hot tub, and lots of activities for all ages. Super view of the sunrise....if you are up early enough!

Great Place to enkoy Kapaa , You can walk or bike most places in this area . Wonderful viewa and a enjoyable get away. Here is the place to sit back and enjoy your tuime here

We were there 12 years ago. I still look back at the time my family and I spent on Kauai. The resort was fun and had many games that we enjoyed as a family there. Tennis courts, mini golf, shuffleboard, etc. Beautiful and updated units.

This is one of the best units on site. One bedroom and because it is on the top floor it has vaulted ceiling with a loft that can be used as a second bedroom. Open the patio door and step outside, feel the ocean breeze, view the ocean no more than 150 feet from your deck. My wife likes this spot better than Princeville as it is central to the island. Much better to go places from.
