We have owned a week here since before it was even built. We bought it in 1993. The unit and the entire resort are beautiful. The condo's are huge and can really save a family money because you can cook some of the meals right in your own condo. There are also a few BBQ areas with charcoal grills to use. The pools are great. The health club is awesome. It has the latest state of the art health club, over 5000 sq. ft. It is only 4 miles to Disney.

The only reason that I would not give it a "5" Star rating is because it needs a restaurant or two on site. That would make it ideal.

My family and parents stayed here for the Millenium week. We stayed in a 3-bedroom unit. Service was wonderful, staff extremely friendly, and though it took me a day or so to learn my way around, the concierge was extremely helpful. A variety of planned resort activities kept the kids busy when we weren't out enjoying the myriad of things to do in this region. We had a fantastic week and even rented (for a whole lot more) a second week to extend our stay.

We went back in 2002 and had an even better time since we knew what/when/where to go! Highly recommend this area and this resort.

I took a star away because there were things we had to ask to be "repaired" upon our check-in. For these prices, this shouldn't happen!

We stayed in a one bedroom lockout. The people in the other unit were so noisy, I knew everything going on. Their TV had to be up against our bedroom wall. It was a bit nerve-wracking. However, the service was great. I asked for an iron and board and had one within the half hour. Same with coffee pot. The unit was adequate for our needs, but I wish I had had a handicapped unit at the time, because I was recovering from a broken leg. The spa was wonderful and even though the sauna didn't work, I enjoyed the spa very much. I would stay at Star Island again, but in a regular unit, not a lockout. We got the unit on a spur of the moment thing, so I really can't complain about the unit itself.

  • Close to everything, yet private. Great rooms, great pools. We especially enjoyed the free gold balls for the putting green.

Room was unimpressive, 2 lights out in master bath, wrong size sheets for sofa sleeper, couch in living room was soiled. Tiny balcony porch (not screened). Only eating place to order food on resort was pool bar with hot dogs and burgers (prepackaged). Driving range was nice, water sports and jet skies not available on Sunday. Concierge did not answer phone.

They did replace the bulbs and bring correct fitting sheets quickly. Does not compare to Sheraton Vistana in any way. I was disappointed and will not stay there again.

We stayed at Star Island July 12-18, 2003. The grounds was okay a little over grown to me and the lake and boating could have been better as well. The 3 bedroom villa was wonderful we had both sides A/B, they were clean and well decorated. They offered lots of activities for the children and a welcome party for guest on Wenesday, all for a fee of course!

Its been a few years since I visited Star Island. I found my stay to be very enjoyable. The rooms and grounds are kept very nice. I took the tour in hopes of purchasing a unit, however the timing was not conducive for us, but the sales people were wonderful and not pushy at all.

This is a beautiful place. My six year old nephew was more impressed with the luxurious rooms than with our hotel at Disney! The pools are heated and felt lovely at night.
