We just returned from 3 weeks in Aruba. We own some at the Renaissance Resort, which we love. However, this place offers a great variation to being downtown in Orajenstad. The plans for this place are exciting. The new design is gorgous! Very modern and fully livable units. Pool is great, Casino now is great but for those who enjoy Vegas, the soon to open Casino is expected to be the biggest and most modern in Aruba. Eagle beach is one of the most beautiful in Aruba. It is a short walk from the timeshares (2-3 minutes)

I would encourage you to stay at the Aruban Resort for an excellent taste of Aruba!

My family has owned and have been comming here for over 15 years. Our last stay was Dec 7 - 22, 2007. We still love it here and especially now that it is under new ownership and management.

They had started upgrading , and every room will have new furnishings, appliances and tiles. The new Casino, under construction, when open will feature one of the largest casinos on the island and will feature several restaraunts and there are plans to bring in Las Vegas Style shows.

We had a wondefull time this year and we were very happy with the new ownership, management and staff who were all very courtious and helfull, And yes the new owners, from Las Vegas were there at the same time and were very pleasant.

I'm sorry to hear that when it was LA CABANA VILLAS, before the new ownership, there were some people who did not have a good experince, but the truth is the new ARUBAN RESORT AND CASINO AT EAGLE BEACH is well worth the experience.

Just came back from Aruba 8/23 and was unbelievably impressed with the remodel plans for the resort and also the rooms. We looked at a 3bdrm unit already remodeled and it was amazing... The company that bought this resort is putting millions in renovations. The people hired to redecorate were the same company that recently renovated the Hyatt and that is just amazing what they did there... Total finish on the remodeling is slated to be 18 months...

I have been gone to Aruba 15 times. I have stayed her all but 3 times. It's a nice peaceful place to stay. The rooms are huge and the service is spectacular. If you need anything you make a phone call and they are attending to you within 5 minutes. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are super clean. I would recommend this resort to anyone thinking about going to Aruba.

Do not stay here and don't buy until you see what improvements are made by the new group. The management in this place may be changing but be very cautious in booking here unless there is a change in management. I will never stay here again and hope you don't as well. During our stay the second week in August it was crawling with unsupervised teens and the adult pool was filled with kids. They were out of control. We opted for the beach. You need to get there before 10 if you expect to get some shade.

They were the worst and rudest managers I have ever encountered and I have stayed in 40 different resorts on varous islands. They do not care about their guests and treat you with disdain. They would not even give us the name of the manager when we requested it and we had to fight to see the manager later in the day who very carefully told us that they had no liability for anything that happened but did admit that the elevator breaking down was their fault.

During our stay we were robbed in our room during the night with us in the room when someone lifted a key at the beach. We lost over a $1000 worth of items incuding food from the refrigerator, money, a camera, jewlery and a CD player. Managment was awful and took no responsibiity not even an apology.

I got stuck in the elevator and even though my back was hurt, they did nothing to compensate me for the massage I got to stop the muscle spasms. They gave us a pass to their restaurant worth $20. See review of restaraunt below. The food was awful and service even worse.

Finally a gift certificate was sent by a relative to our hotel the Monday we arrived. We were never told we had mail and only received it after I made a call to the operator about another matter, the day before we left. Even though I checked my mail each day, they never left a message. That also was blamed on us for not reporting that the light didn't flash on our phone even thought the operator knew it didn't work.

You do not have access to the fitness center. You may not charge at the La Cabana Raquet Club or use their facilities such as the pool. The Blue Marlin restaurant has a very limited menu, horrible service and below average food. The rooms are very clean. The one bedrom does not have a full kitchen in that it does not have an oven or dishwasher.

Even if they offered me a free week to stay here I would refuse it!!

Has definately gone down hill in the 10 years I have been going. There has been some management/sales changes. The main restaurant inside is really really horrible. I do like the fact that it is safe and away from the high-rises. They need to do more about the food. Also, the beach scene of fighting for chairs if ridiculous - Don't let people put tags on beach chairs/tables - If you are going to use a chair then use it. Management needs to do something about this.

Check in was confusing, since we didn't own here or belong to RCI. Our unit slept 6, but only 4 could eat at the table. There was only a 2 burner stove top and a toaster oven, no full stove. The unit smelled like must when we arrived, but after keeping the air on, it got better. Our unit was the farthest from the beach, and by 8 AM all the huts on the beach were taken. They left tags to the people who saved huts, but didn't do anything about it even though people didn't arrive at the beach for 4 or 5 hours. Staff was very friendly. Large pool with waterslide and swim up bar was closed for renovations. They blocked Monday night football from the rooms, so you had to go to a bar to see it.The Hang Out Restaurant was great. Overall, a good week, but I've seen much nicer resorts in Aruba.

We stayed at La Cabana (through exchange) in 1998. Based on that experience, we want to do it again soon! We would recommend La Cabana because it, unlike others on the same beach, had patios/balconies. Its pool was fantastic. The bus stop for transportation around the island was right outside the resort. We opted for a partial meal plan that was fantastic--it allowed us to choose among the (very good) restaurants at La Cabana as well as from (highly rated and well-known) restaurants around town. This is one of our top-rated locations from over 20 years of time share.

All in all, a very disappointing resort. It's dated and too large. You have to fight to get a chair every morning (poolside or beachside). The restaurants are marginal at best. Suffice it to say, if you don't mind a "howard johnson's" look and feel, stay here. Otherwise, I suggest staying at either of the Marriott properties. The Hyatt and Radisson are also much better than this "5 star resort".

The Villas are gorgeous, spacious condos. They feature full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, etc. The Villas have a better layout than the Beach Club side of the resort, so I'd suggest booking (and buying) in the Villas.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. Had plenty of room inside plus a nice patio.

The Villas are set back from the ajoining La Cabanas Beach club, having 2 separate pools (one with a swim up bar), easy access to the onsite convenience store and has use of all of the Beach club amenities such as several restaurants, bars, casino, pool and beach.

If you don't want to cook, there is an "all inclusive" package you can purchase from the Beach Club during your stay.

Note: the beach on this strip of resorts is located across the street, however, it is BEAUTIFUL Eagle Beach.

Location of the Villas is easy access to everything (of course, Aruba is pretty easy to get around in anyway) and there is an activity desk at the Beach Club that can help you plan sight seeing, etc.

We look forward to coming back soon.
