I have been coming to the Sands of Kahana since my honeymoon in 2001 with my family. It's home for us. I raised 4 kids coming here every other year with family and lots of friends. It's family friendly. My kids know every inch of the resort. It's clean, safe and it's nice to see the staff each year. The pool and beach are quaint. We like having the ability to eat in the restaurant after a day of playing in the sun, make dinner if we want, or walk across the street for sushi.

Paradise Found at Sands of Kahana – A Perfect Maui Getaway

If you're looking for the perfect blend of relaxation, luxury, and adventure, Sands of Kahana is a true gem on Maui's west coast. Nestled between Kaanapali and Kapalua, this beachfront resort delivers everything you could hope for in a Hawaiian vacation—and then some.

From the moment we arrived, the aloha spirit was alive and well. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our stay unforgettable. The check-in process was smooth and friendly, and we were quickly escorted to our spacious condo.

We stayed in a two-bedroom oceanfront unit, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Floor-to-ceiling windows opened up to sweeping vistas of the Pacific, with Molokai and Lanai on the horizon. There’s truly nothing like waking up to the sound of waves and having breakfast on your lanai while watching sea turtles swim by.

The unit itself was beautifully appointed—clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The layout was perfect for families or groups, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax.

The resort grounds are immaculate. Lush landscaping surrounds a large pool, hot tub, and kids’ pool. The beach is literally steps away from soft sand, gentle surf, and not too crowded. We spent our days paddleboarding, snorkeling, and lounging in the sun, with frequent whale sightings just offshore.

One standout feature is the onsite restaurant, the Beach House Bar & Grill. The food is delicious, the cocktails are refreshing, and the views from the patio are unbeatable. It’s the ideal place to enjoy a casual sunset dinner.

Another huge plus: Sands of Kahana is in a prime location. You're just minutes from Lahaina's historic charm, Kapalua's world-class golf, and scenic drives like the West Maui Loop. And yet, the resort feels like a peaceful oasis far from the tourist crowds.

Right on the beach such a great location. Last time we were there we could see whales from the shore and a Monk Seal was sleeping down the beach for the afternoon. What an experience! They also have sea toys like kayaks & surf boards to rent right there. the Restaurant and bar are right beside the pool and hot tub. they have several BBQ stands so you can really enjoy the outdoors.

Wonderful location on the beach, but a little north of the traffic and noise of Kaanapali and Lahaina. There is a restaurant on site and the grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The unit has everything you need for a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation.

We have owned for several years and have never failed to enjoy our visits there. We have taken friends and they never fail to praise the resort. The rooms are large and comfortable with all that is needed to cook in the unit, saving food costs. The on site restaurant has been very good for quick meals around the heated pool. Indoor parking is normally available but if full, the onsite parking is quite close. While the units do not have AC, there is nearly always a sea breeze, or shaded areas at the beach edge.

Great for kids with a wading pool & hot tub and also an adult pool & hot tub. Beautiful reef to the left of the resort you can see turtles & colorful island fish. Close to beautiful Kapalua Bay which is an excellent snorkeling beach. Many dinning venues within walking distance and Captain Jack's Island Grill at the resort.

Our family has thoroughly enjoyed our stays at Sands of Kahana over the years! We are sad to sell our unit at this time. This 3 bedroom condo is amazing! There's PLENTY of room for up to 10 people to sleep and live together while visiting the island. The beds are very comfortable, plenty of storage space, a balcony off the master bedroom and accessible through living room door as well. The large capacity washer and dryer is located in each unit - a GREAT perk especially to pack going home with clean clothes! One of our favorite meals have been prepared on their spotless bbq's! Everyday they are cleaned and look brand new! The pool areas, restaurant, lounge chairs and beach access make for a lifetime of memories that are only a few steps away from your door.

It is comfortable, relaxing, and in a great location. It is always a pleasure to return here. This is our floating week unit since 1995, every even year. We have either used or traded it since the beginning, having stayed at this location several times. We have enjoyed every resort we've been to, but we keep this one because it sets the standard for great value and consistently great service. Family matters take us away this year...so we know someone is going to benefit in a big way.

The resort is right on the beach in Kahana which is about 5 miles north of Kaanapali. Guest can call resort few weeks prior to arrival to request unit location.

Have taken our family here multiple times. We have always had a wonderful time --beautiful views, clean rooms and helpful staff. One year they were servicing the elevators (maybe 8 years ago) and that was a drag, we looked at it as exercise, however glad we weren't on a very high floor! All in all, love the place. Our family has created amazing memories there.

Great location. Views and sunsets are much better than on the south side of the island. Not one negative thing to say about the place. Selling because I'm moving to Costa Rica.

Meandering gardens, spacious rooms, and an on-site restaurant distinguish this large condominium complex—units on the upper floors benefit from the height, with unrivaled ocean views stretching away from private lanais. Kids can enjoy their own swimming pool area near a putting green and ponds filled with giant koi.

This resort has always been one of our favorite destinations. The onsite restaurant is wonderful since it is located right next to the swimming pool and has direct eyesight to the beach and sunsets. The suites are spacious and very comfortable. You will love the accommodations! The winds that come through the area is perfect to help cool down from the day. Just a great place. I would give this resort a 4.5, but that's not an option. We are here every year.

great resort. Beautiful sunsets and view of ocean. Easy to park and walk around the area. Great location on the island. Only selling because I'm moving to Europe.

We have had our timeshare for over 20 years and each year we enjoyed making family memories! The property has a lot of amenities such as water sports, volleyball, a putting green, and tennis courts. The large adult pool is heated and there is a specific pool for little ones. The three bedroom unit has space for everyone. Our children always enjoyed having their own bathrooms and bedrooms. The kitchen is full size and fully stocked. The restaurant is well known for excellent service and food.
